Call of Duty: Warzone 2's second season, which recently came out, included a good amount of material for the battle royale mode, including a new map, a 1v1 gulag, and other things.
As usual, the new version also contained a number of glitches and errors that made it difficult for some gamers to enjoy their games.
Players are currently running into a problem while starting the game that keeps them from moving past the "checking for update" screen.
All platforms, including PCs, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox devices are impacted by this problem. Players are facing same problem on all gaming platforms.
The good news is that Infinity Ward is actively addressing a variety of malfunctions and issues, which gamers can follow on the publisher's official Trello board.
This "checking for updates" problem most frequently occurs when the files of game are incomplete or corrupted and this happens because of downloading and closing the game.
There is an option for PC only to resolve this issue by scanning and restoring the files of the game, thus console will need to use alternative methods to resolve this issue.

1. Restarting your console completely is a quick fix for similar bugs. 2. Do not enter Rest or Sleep Mode when the console (PlayStation or Xbox) is turned off.

3. Unplug the power cable when the lights have gone out, then wait up to a minute before plugging the console back in. 4. Restart the console and start up Warzone 2.
Switch Off the internet router. Before turning it back on, give it at least a minute to cool off. Launch Warzone 2 and try once more.
Choose Warzone 2 and tap Start on the home screen. To install any pending updates, choose "Check for update".

Go to My Games and click the Queue option under the left-hand tab and tap on Warzone 2, press the Menu button on the Xbox controller and choose Update.
